So I've binged just over half of Peacemaker
latest #16
finished episode 5
I'm enjoying it I think more than I thought I would
and by that I didn't mean I came into it expecting to hate it, but I wasn't the biggest fan of the guy in the Suicide Squad, and the things I'd seen about Vigilante made me unsure about how they'd handle the character

(I really don't know anything about the comics version, I mean more in the "I was expecting him to be Napoleon Dynamite 2.0" sense)
I like how it's more character driven than anything, as those tend to be my favorite dives into superheroes
and it's clear everyone in the cast had a blast shooting it, which makes it more enjoyable to watch
I called the one guy but not the revelation about the one girl (vague on purpose but you should know what I mean)
I will say though the pacing feels... weird? I genuinely love that they're making Peacemaker unflinchingly stare into who he's become and how he hates the person he's become, but sometimes it feels like when this happens the plot comes to a grinding halt, if that makes sense?
it's less what they're showing and more how they execute it, I think might make more sense
also even without the nonstop soundtrack, there is absolutely no mistake that James Gunn wrote this. This is like peak James Gunn dialogue/letting the actors run wild with their improv
I am invested in this and want to see where it goes
I didn't want to watch it as it aired and I'm kind of glad I waited to marathon it

the improv is especially bringing me so much delight

i can't remember which ep, but there's one post-credits improv scene w/ the stonyfaced chief of police and you can just see a guy in the back losing it trying not to laugh, i love those organic moments
I loved the extra scene at the end of 5 where everyone clearly was breaking, including Cena himself, as he just listed as many people as he could off the top of his head
