but on the other hand LOL the story of street fighter has gone to so many places and so many of them were awful

so is that his kid or (i have not kept up with the lore)

lumberjack ryu has faced the darkness in his heart and learned to temper and control the madness of his wild fighting spirit

oh the other character is someone new, no idea

but I think by now Ken's kid should be of the age where he'd be playable

but yeah street fighter lore gets pretty Anime in a lot of places

like basically you can train and aspire to be The Best but after you train past a certain point you start to pick up this wild murder bloodlust thing

like if all you do is think about fighting, it turns into thinking about killing pretty easily

so ken and ryu's style requires harnessing "hadou" (lol hadouken) but that's a shade from being controlled by dark hadou

and some of the baddies have researched into dark hadou and how if can be used to control fighters and/or make them into wild beasts

like in street fighter.... 4? I think? one of the storylines involves Bison kidnapping Ryu and forcing him to tap into his dark hadou and then he's a boss battle and needs to be put down

Evil Ken is 1000000% more ridiculous and is thankfully noncanonical

I think he happened in like street fighter vs tekken or something

but so SF lore kind of splits down the middle where you have the main characters going on this quest of the fist and appreciating the art in martial arts

and then Interpol is like "UH HEY IT'S WEIRD YOU'RE KIDNAPPING ATHLETES AND TURNING THEM INTO MONSTERS? MAYBE DON'T DO THAT"

and that's how you get Guile/chun li / basically everyone else

but after 5 main games and 3 mainline prequels it's gotten incredibly silly

and SF5 had a weird release where the game went on sale but the story mode was free DLC a month later after the hype died down?

and I got like two hours into the story and was like "actually I'm bored" and never finished it

and that's also how I felt about the story mode in the last marvel vs capcom

and I want to be hype for a new SF but also it's kind of dumb
