yesterday I was trying to do gebura’s “suppress 3 individual ALEPHs” quest (which blows btw) and figured the simplest way to do that in one fell swoop was to try and take down apocalypse bird

so I did like. A half hour of setup and buffing Literally Everyone In The Facility. Because I had a Plan, you see

My plan was A: taking Queen of Hatred and keeping her happy right up to the point where shit started going down, during which she would (ideally) bust out and help

And B: call in the Rabbits to dps down the judgment bird egg so I could have my little dudes focus on the other two with less HP and hopefully avoid any nasty surprises from having everyone in one place for the amount of time it took to actually kill it

Upon very carefully prepping, micromanaging, and finally setting that plan into motion I encountered two vital pieces of knowledge:

1: if you’ve buffed all your agents to level V apocalypse bird will only barely break first trumpet, and second trumpet won’t even happen until like half of them are dead—thus QoH does Jack Shit

2: THE RABBITS DO ALL TYPES OF DAMAGE INCLUDING THE ONE THE JUDGMENT EGG ABSORBS

I LOCKED CENTRAL INTO A COMPLETE UNWINNABLE STALEMATE

Also central being locked down means that nobody can get down to the other departments when the meltdowns start happening, but ALSO when literally everything down there inevitably breaches they can’t get out either

This results in the world’s most deadly Benny Hill chase sequence in which like 4-or-5 abnormalities are running around flipping out and chasing each other and I can’t pause or do anything except wait for my agents to die to pale damage and think about what I’ve done

It was hilarious actually

Anyway right after that I did another like half hour of prep and managed to kill it with ZERO DEATHS so I’m feeling pretty cool about myself ✌️ this also means everyone in my facility now has a cool edgy wing

Having spent like an hour dealing with it I think I can safely say Alriune is one of my least favorite abnormalities in this entire game

I have a lot of thoughts I haven’t rly been talking about here but first: oh my god what a good game

Definitely one of the most brutal experiences I’ve had (I scraped through day 49 with half my facility dead) but so worth it for that true ending
