The thing I really want to have happen is one of the DC boys in the colosseum getting pitted against an opponent with a creepy/intimidating title, they get put in the arena and freakin' Bart walks out.

If it's Kon he just immediately gets hug tackled.

I just love the idea of that moment

Another moment I want. Tim seeing Bart in a trail, Bart spotting Tim, getting excited, noticing the collar, noticing his "owner" and he's just instently cold rage pissed.

I'm thinking Bart would be captured separately from the rest of the group. Maybe before he could have joined up with them or maybe even he was dropped into the wilderlands there instead of with the group by some accident or something.

So he could have been there just long enough to build a reputation

Somehow, even without his powers, he managed to cause enough chaos to get him fed to the lions (probably tried and failed to free himself/others).

The lions don't end up eating him, because it's Bart and he just has a way of pulling off shit like somehow exhausting a lion or getting it to like him.

So he ends up being put through matches.

And I think a lot of his wins just come from people underestimating him, having that freebie elf speed power, and combatants just not being used to someone fighting like this kid does. Like, Bart's got a hell of a punch and I have to imagine that the reason most speedsters avoid kicking opponents is that they kick like a horse even without their powers.

Okay. Scale of 1-100, how relieved would Bart be seeing Dick there?

But he'd also just kinda gets by on the skin of his teeth.

All the Young Justice people like, "Oh, thank God there's an adult."

He'd be so relived to see anyone he knows but also Dick is resposible and one of the few adults who's backed them ove rthe years.

I also think he's seen as kind of unsettling (hence the creepy title). particularly by some of the higher class people, because most of his opponents can barely get a hand on him, he's weird, he fights weird, and he befriended a freakin' lion. He's got big feral fae child energy and it's upsetting to the people in charge, but the crowds love him.

When would he be from?

I'm stuck on that, I might pull him from right before Kid Flash again because that's such a good point, but I'm tempted to pull him from current comics because that would sure be a shock to Tim and Kon, and he has so much baggage to deal with that could be fun to explore.

On the downside i would have to commit to reading the newish YJ com ics and they suck. I mean, I can ignore most of it since the rest of DC comics already does but like...I should still at least skim it

I can't really get a handle on the modern Impulse because he's so AU-seeming in some ways. I mean, Bart had a Reason to become KF, for good or ill, and they don't really explain why he picked up a moniker he retired.

True! I kind of already have a headcanon for the change though, which is basically the majority of his time as KF was miserable. he became KF because he was miserable and wanted people to see he was trying to grow up and be more responsible. And no one really did. Except kind of Wally kind of...after he died as the Flash.

He came back to this screwed-up version of the world that already had a Kid Flash (two if you count Bar-Tor!), the Impulse costume was the one piece of home he still had, so he stuck with it. He's still not sure if that's what is going to work for him in the long run, but it works for now.

As for the explanation YJ gives us for how he got here...I'm not acknowledging it because the Flash comics already rightfully retconed it, because it was stupid and over complicated.

I've heard they might be making a new YJ comic and I really hope it happens and that it gets a better writer

True. I'm mostly unhappy with YJ because rather than doing a decent comic, they just tried to launch a bazillion other characters.

Honestly, there are like three Bart moments I loved. Him telling Kon to basically shut up until he's done hugging him was one.

SAME! I also kind of liked their talk (shitty "backstory" aside) and the refrences to when they first met with the "meep meep", that was cute. The Bart and Kon moments were pretty great.

It was also good seeing Lil'Lobo Anita and Cissie again...though only very briefly...
