needle book with medieval German brick stitch embroidery, using wool and silk

a reliquary for a friend’s anniversary and a wool replica of the Snartemo II band

I came in second place in a competition with that band; it’s what got me more commissions >.>

submitted it with this, which was the band I wove from wool I spun myself, using Oseberg find pattern

a full Norse set of clothing for SCA events; used wool in weaves found in extant pieces; hand stitching done where it’s visible, trimmed with cording I spun and bands I wove

I worked with a couple of pro costumers to make it, and will be making Finnish Iron Age clothing (male) next, with wire wrapped belt tassels and weaving from extant samples.

this was for me >.> purse strap woven with a Turkish kivrim pattern. I spun the wool myself here, too.

I may be having the yips about drawing, but I’m finding a lot of other art forms that really appeal to me. So, my days are occupied learning the things and doing the things in between...crying a lot.

I have closeups of the painting and have determined it’s going to probably be multidirectional satin stitches with couched gold and brown threads

1. She wants 20 inches of embroidered cloth
2. I charged her mates’ rates because she’s making clothes for me
3. I should not have charged her mates’ rates.

Thankfully I don’t have to assemble the hat, just do the embroidery part.
