Has anyone got an idea of how many individual artists are active on T61?

I have no clue, the only thing I check from time to time is the number of songs by checking out the song ID

Don't forget to substract a percentage Julian. Perhaps as much as 1% of the uploads have been deleted. Most of them soon after...
