Was thinking about what to give Augustine since Rona first went to town on a Google doc; some of the current shelf are slightly-reworked versions of things that I think I'd actually found more interesting the other way

But right now the one that keeps flirting with my thoughts is the puppetry book, Webs I think —

Augustine's struggling to define his relationship with Jemperor, given the whole thing with "well, you aren't The Emperor here, you aren't even The Ultimate God-Power, what are you? And what does that make me, your patsy?!"

After ten thousand years of willful self-abnegation, he's not ... really all that good ... at blazing his own trail of self-identity; he has no idea of his plot arc, as it were, and What He's Aiming For

So that minor effect, amirite??

This will proooooobably only hit full payoff if Ochrona actually wants to Go There with a full-on marionette thread (eventually), though. I suspect Jemperor would get a kick out of, say, finally getting that full, subservient, begging-for-God's-mercy Repentant Apology, for a completely random example...

I also kind of like the idea of him becoming Aware Of Them starting with the labyrinth, not reading any of them for a good long while, and then eventually (after Chara's experience with it, presumably) falling victim... possibly just when he's starting to show more independence from Jemperor, too

Which is definitely reasonable! End result: liking results of Web much more than Augustine actually fears it...
