So Talisman is a digital version of a physical board game. It doesn't look like much (and honestly, isn't coded particularly well)
BUT it's a great game to play with friends (naturally y'all are invited the next time we sit down to have a game night)
now, Shikki tells me there's a point to the game. Go around and play hero and rescue the world from Hell or something idk
but where I have fun is in the roleplaying
you start off with this random dude who is nothing but a standard fantasy class. And as you move across the board, Shit Happens
and the shit always seems to weave itself together into a fun story
We played a game where a recently-escaped Princess is fleeing imprisonment only to find herself suddenly thrust into an alternate dimension where her gentle demeanor soothes a hostile and abrasive land
there was a failed monk who was banished from his monastary who couldn't do anything right. He was turned into a toad after bumping into a bar witch, and regularly mauled by angry wolves in the forest. Beaten, broken, he had nothing but his faith to guide him. At last, he encountered The Devil in the woods, where He had been murdering innocents and felling
every adventurer who came before him. And the monk faced him, and simply prayed, doubling down on the power of his faith. The unbeatable devil melted in the presence of the monk's Belief
we named him before he did anything cool
BUT LIKE. Talisman is a cool game. It's a long game, it's a chill game, but really fun things come out of it. Come play with us. I got the hookup for you.
Whenever we play next, Shikki will be around to patiently explain how to ACTUALLY play
I never pay attention to that part
D&D Monopoly is how I like to think of it! The Rp is the best part

but Monopoly is a terrible game that nobody actually wants to play
bold of you to assume I still remember how to play for real
MAYBE MORE LIKE THE GAME OF LIFE IDK I love Talisman though, both real and digital...
my Talisman board has gotten so big though that I don't have a table that can hold it so we have to play on the floor (if I can get people to play with me)
minimoffs: something something you like to play the lady on the dragon
necrofancy: I played on the floor with you! ;-; no idea how to play the game even then but I vividly recall playing Esmeralda from Hunchback of Notre Dame and there were dungeons.
YOU DID AND I VERY MUCH ENJOYED IT
I loved watching your face light up as you realized "Oh, cards make the board TERRIBLE"
you're also welcome to join us for game nights if you want to! idk what your situation is like these days (I thought we weren't on speaking terms? and then suddenly we are again hi welcome back I'm assuming something happened that I don't know about

)
look if I can make a character's life terrible I'm gonna want to do that
we were as far as I know I am just bad about keeping in touch v.v and also tend to be pretty booked throughout the week but I like to use plurk to keep an eye on/keep up with people
0 desire to win a game. that is not why I play games
making a character's life terrible is THE BEST no matter what medium. Also agreed, winning doesn't matter, the journey is what matters. I am legit sad whenever someone makes a run for the Crown of Command at the end of Talisman
I'm like COME ON... WE'RE HAVING SUCH A GOOD TIME...
(entirely fair! I just had some Sads about things that aren't topics for a public plurk and there was like.... 3 years of not having a reason to not be sad about it so I guess tldr maybe we should talk some things out?)
(yeah that sounds good, hit me up anytime my dude)
anyway, everyone play Talisman, it's ridiculous and a good time. c:
I remember watching you guys play that on the floor lol
Pretty sure I have this on my steam cuz of you two and never played it? Or I played it once lmao
it's awful single-player tbh
the computer both knows how to play and actually wants to win
Yeah it's not fun single-player for that reason, you don't get to like, take your time and play and enjoy.
It's a race. GREAT multiplayer though.
100 percent it's so much fun
ted the disgraced monk will forever be in my heart
it was so surprising when he turned everything around at the end!
I went at the devil to commit suicide by demon! and then there was an "exorcize" button
lmao I still remember that one game we played
your magical girl isekai!
the tales of the frog priest
