Here’s a fun take from Alito’s decision: ‘…but this Court has held that the Due Process Clause of the Fourteenth Amendment “incorporates” the great majority of those [Bill of Rights] rights and thus makes them equally applicable to the States.’ Note his scare quotes, with Alito & Co.’s apparent lack of concern for what the Court has “held” in the past.

Further reading of the decision makes it crystal clear that this court would uphold a federal ban on abortion in a hot minute.

Yes, Alito’s demurral on that point (twice) Is utter bullshit and of course he knows it. Maybe this decision doesn’t intrinsically support overruling those other decisions because “fetus“, but virtually all of the arguments he makes in the decision can be independently applied that way, and probably will be.
