We took her to a Sniffspot (like Airbnb for dog parks/spaces) near Temecula. It's a 20 acre avocado farm! She was able to run free and roam through a beautiful stream.

She was such a good baby dawg. She stayed with us the whole time she was off leash and she came whenever we called.

When there are no other humans around she is a gem, lol.

She was a dirty bitch lol.

Then we were all traumatized by a brush with one of nature's more aggressive inhabitants.

A fire ant bit Brie between her toes and would not let go.

I had to pull on the thing really hard three or four times before it finally let go. After that she couldn't walk on that foot and she was freaking the fuck out.

It happened on the trail back to the car, too, so we had to get out of there before the next renters showed up with their dog(s), who could potentially have been as reactive as Brie.

idgiebay ended up carrying her as far as she could, but she's not a small dog and we had a bunch of stuff with us, so Brie kind of hobbled part of the way.

Then she laid in the back seat hyperventilating and gnawing on her foot for like a half hour until the pain seemed to start subsiding.

Bonus: we had no cell service out that far and no GPS so we couldn't figure out how to get back to a major city and find an ER vet. Thank goodness she ended up not needing one.

And that was our happy/horrible day at the farm, the end.
