Whelp... the Sword of Damocles has fallen. 8:30 on a Sunday I get told not to go in on Monday. No real explanation as to why... because why would they start talking to me now? 
However, the manager for the contractor offered me a potential new position in the company so... hopefully this is more of a short vacation??
