[nyc] in the most new york moment, I'm pretty sure there is a shootout happening a few cars over and everyone on this side of the train is just like ".....sits quietly on our phones until this all gets sorted out"

the conductor has stopped at every station being like "there are police on the platform if you need assistance <3"

and then we got above ground and she just went "we are directly above the new york police department"

and now the train is stopped and it sounds like distant fireworks

...yeah this is the vibe lately. as is my reaction being relief it wasn't your car but a complete lack of surprise and many unkind thoughts about our mayor.

koutavi: tbh I was really impressed with how the conductor handled it. very like "there is clearly an incident and I see you"

like the first time I had to commute into nyc after online learning lost support! I was walking to my bus home and there was a bunch of yellow tape marking off an area. and someone was complaining about how a stab victim ran and left a really inconvenient blood trail that he now had to clean up
Jessie

at the time I was like "lol yep I'm back in Manhattan" but also I kept moving because I had a bus to catch

Or the naked man that was running at me the other day, a car did slow down so I could walk in the bike lane and people saw naked man and didn't yell at me for walking in the street
