azul has done great in a lot of areas
and then there's This
this is after what happened with sweeney in the infirmary!
As he decides "So the one person who might be in my corner, let's just toss that"
Jamil: /angry gestures a lot at him
Him over here graduating around the time of this kfskfmdm
bc i know what's going on in his head and how he's feeling right now and it's just!!
But when exactly is this conversation happening?
Because I haven't had anything with Jamil reflecting anything like this in any way, and it'll be problematic for some stuff if it starts to conflict
She's gonna try to jar him out of that defensive posture, because she knows it when she sees it.
aerynaeacus: it's before sweeney was rezzed. and that in general was just an all around Bad Time for azul, so it shouldn't affect too much
and good, that's a step in the right direction
Biiig military officer energy coming from her. Because she's usually so controlled...
That's perfectly fine then yeah
I have the whole block of time as Jamil basically... perpetually numb to stay strong for Azul. Then he dealt with that later

GOD... i was gonna do more than just this thread but
i got hit with intense sleepies and one of the other threads i was gonna touch partially depends on how this one goes
whyyyy not link to the thread?
verbally smack some sense into him
h-he. he recently learned he accidentally killed someone he cared about..................
manslaughter at most, Azul
and should she just casually kick back and let him get himself locked into Zero?
no matter the reason, she is his direct authority figure! how he treats her is... kind of a huge deal
And Jamil would rather her yell him away from Zero, tbh... call him selfish but askjhsd
Not even that. Like, medical malpractice. That's why doctors have insurance
Yeah, the manslaughter bit was a joke, but my point about knocking sense into him not so much for that reason ^
Everything she said was very valid, so I cannot help but agree with her

; after what happened, the last thing Azul needed was some heavy punishment. Thus the very common phrase of knocking sense into him
bless. I was worried I hadn't made sense or something up there, and Rui had missed my point
i mean, he fucked up, there's no mistake about that. it just shocked me that yelling and aggression is what's encouraged when azul has responded well (and even better) to gentleness
ofc, not that i fault franky for responding the way she is! it does make me happy that she's dropping some of her own poker face to really get across her feelings to azul. and that def helped
azul trying to talk him down and seph just like
Azul:
Well, then that just makes two of us surprised, given gentleness felt like that last thing anyone deserves from their warden after doing/saying anything remotely similar (e.g. the answer he gave her, given that was... lol)
I expect gentleness from... an SO. Or bestie. Or someone literally nothing like Franky
can't say i agree on the first part. i firmly believe it's the place of a warden to help their inmates navigate tough and confusing situations. like, is azul being an ideal inmate? fuck no, and he shouldn't be bc he's dealing hardcore with grief and guilt, and probably still some shock too
it's not something i fault franky for and i wasn't expecting gentleness either. she's stressed too and she's trying her best
I'll just have to agree to disagree. I don't think it's any one person's place to say or decide what exactly a warden's job is
If anything, I think it's more about teaching than full-on helping. All being soft and/or gentle at someone would do, imho, is set them up to potentially learn nothing, depending on the inmate
Nobody here is meant to function as anyone's parent, though
can't say her current method didn't have the intended effect, as shocking as it was
I'm not actually surprised

;
Like real talk I can understand how being in a character's head can make it difficult to process someone being rough on the character
Especially when struggling with anxiety
But there is not a prison in existence that would encourage a warden being soft and gentle at inmates
If it's fitting for the warden? Yeah. But I'd never be surprised at someone being IC
oh, well... i mean, i wasn't surprised at franky's reaction, at all. guess that's where the miscommunication came from
And I just happen to be the type to encourage tough love when I think it's fitting. But I won't do that again with this CR if it feels weird or uncomfortable for anyone involved
I just feel weird and uncomfortable over someone expecting... soft or something when their character was the main one in the wrong
i mean i'm ngl i have a huge soft spot for kids. especially ones that are (and have experienced) trauma. and like. slamming one's fist on the table, causing something to break, intrusion of personal space are aggressive behaviors. coupled with the fact azul got his ass handed to him by sweeney before, it's frightening situation for him
at the same time, i agree that his actions should not be without consequences. it's just a rough time, is all.
This is a slightly weird thing for me to be following after watching you chant 'fight fight fight' at our Azuls.
Maybe the biggest difference in opinion, with me, is Azul isn't a kid, to me.
I see him as a full-grown man, because the age of adulthood for mers is... 16 can get married and have a child
Also he owns his own business, is a shady and hardened criminal....
Azul trying to talk down Sephiroth is funny to me
he has not yet discovered The Tactic to making a sephiroth listen
