still time to get some cake!
(mind you, as recently confirmed with x-rays and as will also be confirmed with upcoming MRIs, my spine thinks I'm about fifty years older than I actually am, but still)
I didn't but my schedule today is on fire!!!
quadrille: hey isn't there a Wegmans near you
asking for a friend
(the friend is my bud, taste)
also I'd like to emphasize the massive downplaying of the situation in this plurk, "back surgery" sounds relatively chill ... not like "survived potentially lethal spinal cord injury"
(j/k, I would die of guilty embarrassment if you actually did that, I just love their cake and how it has an Actually Dairy Free, Actually Tastes Good option)
Well, sure, but I mean
Something something Great Plains Stoicism something something
also the wegmans is in a totally different part of brooklyn it is kind of near no one iirc.
but most importantly let's rephrase this to the accurate "emergency spinal decompression" and not just "back surgery" ...
(plus I am still pretty sure that it was technically the 11th so there's still a whole entire day! because I already didn't have class that day.)
I'm pretty sure that was actually the day I was released! Because actually having the surgery on 11/11/11 was Too Good and therefore can't possibly be accurate?
oh shit though you're right wegmans cake is so good
oh ew it's basically in the navy yard... i mean i could...
I got Wegmans cake for my birthday and it was so amazing
cuddlebug: yeah Kit warned me that in point of fact it is the Wrong Area of Brooklyn and is close to Nobody 😔
yeah literally nobody, bc navy yard... but i do have a car and luca seems much better today
i mean if it was traumatic injury emergency surgery then they would have still done it on a hoiday
yeah it was and I was asked why I wasn't scrubbed in (I worked there! nursing on a different floor!) and I am going to continue to say the surgery was at 6am on the 11th.
we literally discuss this yearly now: one of us is wrong, and we are ~200 miles away from that hospital & don't have paper records, so someday we may find out who it is!
it's not even an argument, it's just a "welp we both have reasons to be a day off the other's memory" yearly situational quirk
wegmans: existing in the no-man's-land navy yard
i have been to the navy yard once to reclaim a towed car. i am good not doing it again ...
congratulations on beating the odds!
speaksincolor: it'll happen SOMEDAY gdi ... our oven is so terrible we have not tried to bake cake in it even once, it Does Not Cook From The Top
skeletone: that's also the only reason i've ever been down there lol
Don't ask me how many times I ended up there when I worked in Williamsburg, because I don't like to remember
my car was towed once from an unmarked police parking zone (the cashier looked at my photos and told me to fight it but i just wanted my fucking car back), and the not-sister got towed........ several times and i would have to drive mom down there to get it back.
One time, the sign marking the end of the one-car-length-size truck loading zone for the bodega all-but-next-door got knocked over ... and then not replaced for MONTHS ... even though you could SEE where the Broken Sign Post was ... invalidating about eight parking spots ...
... directly in front of my workplace ...
