Apropos of nothing, I've decided I'm going to give Thad my weird problem with meat, because I think it's funny and it works.
He's from 'Legion of Superhero' times, so most likely he's been on some kind of vegan diet his whole life, if he wasn't just on some dietary supplements or something.
He's not full vegan. Eggs and milk he's fine with, and he can eat meat, because he had to when he was Bart, he just doesn't care for most of it, and too much/certain types make him nauseous.
If it's well cooked and sliced thin he can handle it better, but something like bloody steak he can barely get down, let alone keep down.
It's not a "moral" thing or him having a problem with "this used to be a living creature, that's barbaric" like with a lot of the Legion (though that last point might bug him somewhat, if he actually bothers to think about it), but more a "bad mouth feel" + his body just kind of rejecting it. This also goes for sushi with raw fish.
Which also fits with my headcanon that the Bart we see in the issue of Young Justice where he's trying to "help" Kon get his superpowers back, by nearly killing him via reenactments of iconic origin stories, is actually Thad. Because the timeline for that matches up.
I'm not going with this as a hard-set headcanon obviously (in reality we never had an issue of YJ that showed Thad's time as Bart). But I am amused by the idea of Kon one day teasing Bart with sushi, having Bart be like "Dude, what are you talking about? I've never had a problem with sushi".
And Kon does the mental math and the next time he sees Thad he's just like "It was YOU!"
Bart definitely made a point that he has no intention of eating the hens. (they're bantams, anyway, so tiny) But he also has no rooster so there's no chance of eating fertile eggs because ugh.
Bugly42: I figured they were pet chickens with him naming them, and oh my god! Lil bantams!
Our children's librarian where I work has bantams and she brings her one girl in for story time sometimes. They're SO cute!
He had me do a bunch of homework and they're Easter Eggers bantam variety.
Because different colors means you know if someone isn't laying quickly and can get on top of things. The only one he didn't name has a kaiju growl for a name because Godzilla is the best chicken guardian.
OLoo! Sounds like he was really smart about things , and oh my god! that's cute that he let Godzilla name one!
Kid Flash had to overthink things.
He's still waffling about goats.
...Get a goat and name it Max
Part of why he likes the idea of goats is you can rent them out for clearing ground.
He likes being eco-friendly.
