having a bit of a discussion in a discord group when someone mentioned that if youre not financially stable and out of shape, dating isnt for you. i agree with the financial part but the out of shape comment was a bit out of line for me.
i mentioned about how i have friends/know people with "out of shape" significant others and how i also had a gf when i was out of shape too. also mentioned how it all boils down to personal preferences.
dude countered with "im sure the gfs/bfs of your friends would be happier if their SOs were healthy". told him that there are times when out of shape people are way more healthier than skinny ones. if his understanding of out shape equates to morbidly obese then he might be right.
