I actually think 4X games are really boring but there's something there I WANT to play

I think a lot about what's engaging about these things, maybe the same thing that makes me want to play stuff like Dwarf Fortress or whatever. I love building, I don't mind combat stuff, but what's the focus?

I don't know. I like building games but 4X are the worst.
