[Crafting] [rottmnt] My world is falling down around my ears so I just wanted to make something easy and comforting. Decided to start working on a Rise Leo plushy with my spare yarn https://images.plurk.com/2ayySgxt8CkUKEz9CAknnq.jpg

Not the best and I want to make better turtle plushies when I have the energy (and money to by yarn that matches their colors better) but it's super soft and I'm happy with it for what it is so far.

I made the cardinal sin of using the wrong yarn sizes (because it was my spare yarn, and I couldn't be picky), so I'm having to adjust the rest of the pattern to match the bulky green yarn.

I maybe should have gone with making him a turtle tot, but by the time i thought of that I'd already gotten so far into it.

I know this feeling. I just accidentally stumbled across using needle-felting as a way to embellish the surface and use scrap yarn by converting it to roving.

Apparently it works with acrylic (and wool, of course) but not sure about the plant-based stuff.

Bugly42: ooo! I'd never heard of doing that before, that sounds really cool. I didn't even know you could felt with acrylic

I just saw it on YouTube browsing last night. Basically you use a carding brush or pet slicker brush to separate the fiber again.

It wouldn't have to be the whole surface, either, but this probably is more show than something to cuddle.

I enjoy when you blend crafts to make things even more awesome.

You can also just use the brush on a surface, although it may pull the stuffing through...
