So Dad's back in the hospital (his legs swelled up with water weight and he kept putting off going till it was so bad he literally couldn't get up out of his chair or walk).

He should be fine once the swelling goes down, but this is happening as we're trying to figure out whether or not we'll still be living in this house in a month.

We were told 4 months ago that our landlord won't renew our lease but would be willing to sell the house to us at a super low price. And Dad has been waffling on what he wants to do for 3 MONTHS.

He's shot down every solution I've come up with, and every rental situation I've found. He refuses to pay more than 1,100 a month, but he also refuses to move into an apartment, a mobile home, or a condo. He also won't move to any of the areas I've found where home rental is set at that price.

He wants to live in an upper-middle-class neighborhood but pay lower middle-class prices, and refuses to believe that's not a thing I can make happen. He also will not hear me out about splitting the rent (despite the fact that we already technically do that anyway).

I looked into getting a mortgage to buy the house and found I would need him to co-sign it with me, because I don't have enough credit built up or a rental history of my own (since dad pays the rent and I only pay the water bill). But he won't co-sign on a mortgage with me.

I have enough money saved up for a down payment for a land contract (which is what he said he wants to do), but he just keeps procrastinating on calling the landlord to see if he'll work with us on that.

And now he seems to think the landlord won't actually kick us out and his plan is to just squat. Which, like, squatter's rights don't apply to rental situations.

I feel like I'm crawling out of my skin with stress.

I don't know if I should start packing shit up and getting ready to bail us out when we inevitably get kicked out. Or if I should wait for him to call the landlord (which, I should mention, he will not give me the info to call the landlord myself, so taking care of it myself is also off the table).

I have places I can go if we get kicked out, but my Dad doesn't, and he can't take care of himself. We COULD move in with my Grandma and my Aunt but I don't know if he would, and the situation would be hell if we did.

I can't understand why he won't just call this guy and get this worked out.

Or work with me on getting a mortgage if he won't go for the land contract.

We had so much time to figure all this out and so many easy solutions and now we're down to the wire and I can't stop thinking about where we might be in a month
