I need exactly the right music and exactly right volume of music to concentrate
It also can’t have lyrics because that will pull my attention
Sometimes i can click with a good soundtrack or something like that
But right now I’m bored of my old standbys and even soundtracks can be too much sometimes; they can have a musical storytelling that is too complex and again, will grab my attention and pull my focus out of writing
Sometimes, yes. Sometimes when the music hits a certain song I suddenly have a tag forming and can go do that instead of whatever other puttering I was doing on the internet so. definitely have music that helps.
Hmm. Some slower music with chill vibes? /checks stuff
Cafe jazz is a lot of my go tos, probably in part because I’m conditioned to like, tune it out
Same with all of them really but they have a low intensity vibe and the background noise added to them so idk.
I’m also extremely self aware that it’s a Bad ADHD habit of mine when I’m struggling to concentrate to hyperfixate on finding the right music, while simultaneously being bored of all the music I listen to
HONESTLY “background noise” is something i need to go back to....rain, fireplace ambiance, that kind of thing
Yeah, that's nice at times.
I have a couple of bg noise type ones I use
I have to be really picky about mine because anything resembling people talking gets me, so a lot of "cafe" ones are out
lately I've been writing to the undertale soundtrack, but specifically a playlist I have saved with all the extended tracks because they're fifteen minutes long
that way I also kind of time myself to write for 15 minutes and then give myself a break
OH YEAH, extended or very long tracks does help, because it’s not changing every 3 mins
The Lord of the Rings Symphonythis album is so good for that. it condenses the entire lotr film trilogy Score into 6 movements and each track ranges from 10 to 30 minutes
