I'm not sure what to feel about the ending but ngl, I liked the al-Ghuls' characterizations in this. When was the last time we got Talia as a nuanced character in the main comics?

overall i have some mild complaints about the story and i feel like tom taylor was a bit too nice to r'as but considering the way he's been twisted over the years into this cartoonish level of evil, it's at least different from that.

the ending felt weird. i do think it would have been better if r'as either stayed dead or only came back many many years later. but i really liked the parallels drawn between bruce's grief and inability to move on and r'as' own grief and how it's changed him, and in both cases it's talia and damian picking up the pieces.

angriestbird: to be fair!! she's been squarely in the morally grey zone for years now. they still like... girlbossify her, when she was originally a lot gentler and less ruthless, but she's been kind of pigeonholed into that role even before morrison.

but she started on her redemption arc after being brought back to life in robin: son of batman

because she wouldn't stand for r'as killing bruce and certainly wouldn't stand for him threatening damian.
