Hello, this is more lurk than plurk for me these days but I thought I'd do a quick update for anyone who is sat around all day unable to move because they don't know where I am or what I've been doing

ADHD: The pills have been good and I'm still in working out how much zone but we think we have it sorted. Issues have arisen because they stop working a week before my period and start working again during which is not fun because side effects are frequent panic attacks but on the whole it's good and I'm doing much better with them.

Parent Issues: So I hadn't spoken to my mum since november because her husband told her he didn't like her speaking to me. I felt bad at some point last month and phoned her. Everything was all nice and friendly and she promised she would ignore the husband and speak to me. Not heard from her since :-)

Alex: Alex still can't walk. We got him a wheelchair off ebay so that he can at least leave the house although it makes him anxious after 3 months inside. According the specialist it's almost certainly a slipped disc but they can't tell for sure without an mri, the waiting list for mri's is about 4 months and then it will be however long for surgery. Which..

I keep describing as "you getting butterflied on a metal table" which I think is a really helpful way to show I care.

Other brain stuff: Really really wanted to know what had occured to my abuser, if for nothing else to be safe in the knowledge that I'll never bump into him anywhere. So following helpful doxxing tips from tiktok and using an ancestry free trial I eventually determined he died in 2015. Counting that as a win.

I'm glad the meds are helping! I am so sorry about the side effects. I'm on adderall AND a higher dose of wellbutrin. The PMDD is real. If it's the emotional dis regulation that is getting you.

I'm told "Your parents should have taught you as a child but the good news is it won't take as long to learn" (18 years) I send all the empathy in the world. I'm relieved your abuser is gone.

Oh and the anxiety. if it's strattera/bupropion, will get better. I used to take a _very_low dose of Ativan for the first month as my body adjusted.

Am glad the meds are good, I'm sorry your step dad is an utter cunt. Am glad you're getting SOMEWHERE with Alex, but god that's hard on everyone. And I'm glad your abuser is dead, and I hope it was painful. I love you a lot.

sounds like your step dad is a twat.. I hope your mum comes round and gets in touch soon. Glad to hear the meds are helping even if the side effects are no fun.

I'm actually relieved to hear of someone else who has their ADHD meds totally stop working before their period, like the first day or two and few before I'm useless.

hyasynth: it doesn't seem so bad this time, fingers crossed. I'm hoping it was just getting used to it like you said and it won't be so bad from now on. It's a pain in the arse trying to be neurotypical!

Dysfunctionality: It's wank isn't it. According to my ADHD guy it's somewhat common and some people take a higher dose to cover it but idk if I have the organisation skills for that.
