I haven't the foggiest guess at what's going on with Ever After, the Cat, Alyx or literally anything else though at this point.

Not surprised that Alyx was an unreliable narrator because this series has played with that before and also it takes either a very humble person to portray themselves as "morally ambiguous" in their own story or a very egotistical one.

Also less sure if the Herbalist did the same thing to her as he did to RWBY and what happened to her was the result of her doing what would have happened to Ruby if she'd accepted her double's offer.

OR if Alyx just didn't enjoy being told she was being an asshole and doubled down on it.

Because we've all sure seen that happen.
