with the.....caveat that I'm leaving the house soon to go see a Japanese cultural performance with a friend BUT I'm here for now
both kazuma and i are surprised by how fond he ended up being of finn but i also love the whole
clueless one sided mentor crush situation they have going on
where like... it actually isn't COMPLETELY all in finn's head but kazuma just has no idea what finn's impressions actually are and finn just kind of grew on him by virtue of being around and endearing
KAZUMA JUST LEAVES A LOT OF ROOM TO FILL IN THE BLANKS
I was going to say mysterious but
he doesn't even know that's what he's doing he has NO idea finn thinks he's mysterious which is so funny to me
finn: wow... i wonder what cool and mysterious things kazuma is thinking about... i bet it's profound and manly and insightful
kazuma: i wonder if i can do the asogi sword drawing technique with a sabre
I love getting to play some goofy like, miscommunications and assumptions based on CR that don’t really know each other very well
me too!!! i feel like it doesn't happen very often bc people (including myself) tend to have cr click neatly into like, positive/negative categories
it's unusual (in a great way) to get something that's just
???? mutually a bit awkward
I also enjoy the tension of like, their CR has the vibe of like “adult man is fine with teens but doesn’t really care about hanging out with them”
i can't wait to see where they develop tho, kazuma IS unexpectedly fond of the lil guy 😭
also love the angle of kazuma being like "oh god this kid reminds me of myself too much, i cannot actually encourage him but i also don't have my shit together enough to steer him the right way either"
This hasn't actually come up yet but please understand that Chuuta has put Finn firmly in the "a human but I can say any weird thing about what aliens are like and he'll just roll with it" category which is an important category that has no one else in it
Natasha and Finn is just amazing. He brings out some of the most interesting parts of her, and it's actually like... it's surprisingly complex. Because there is this like auntie relationship, but also some kind of challenging stuff pops up between them which makes it so much deeper than just a simple I've adopted this kid and now he's mine now.
