i do think it's genuinely really interesting that misty meets this guy who's new and doesn't even care about the past that was, in her mind, the most important thing she ever did with the most important people she'll ever meet, and he genuinely likes her even though she's batshit and probably a murderer even though he doesn't quite get her
and she's absolutely going to choose the girls who don't even like her over him. it's not even a question, she just will. because just like everyone else, she's never going to let it go. the others see it as this horrific event they went through and even though it was that for misty too she still sees it as the closest she's ever come to belonging
like misty you finally have someone who just likes you as a person, somehow and you are going to throw him away for a bunch of women who want to forget they ever met you
when walter said "i don't really care about what happened to you guys in the woods. that's not why i find you interesting" it was like a slap to the face because even though for ANY of the others that would have been a huge relief, for misty it's like. how dare you?
