im just kind of baffled that the game seems to want me to sympathize with mia and the bakers but not with the child superweapon who was programmed to imprint on people in an endless attempt to find the love she never got

this would end so much differently if claire redfield was in this game

i wanted to give the serum to zoe because zoe genuinely didn't do anything wrong but then i read that zoe dies in that ending so i gave it to mia instead.

also the speech at the end about how "mia and i weren't the only victims here... the bakers were also victims, because that THING did that to them." i would have accepted it if there was just one single tacked on acknowledgement of eveline being a victim too, but nope.................. eveline's pure evil ig.

I can see how Ethan would have trouble seeing Evie as anything other than a monster. She’s not pure evil but she’s also what she’s programmed to be: a stealth weapon.

I love her to pieces though. Especially post-Village. This baby didn’t deserve her lot in life.

i think ethan's perspective is valid but mia's is so wildly fucked up and the game never really takes the time to call her out on it

I got a soft spot for kids who deserved better.

But yeah they really blew it with Mia. I feel like she had a ton of potential and they just threw it away. I feel like they couldn’t figure out exactly what role she should have and ended up half-assing her.

been thinking more about this game and the specific way that eveline wanted ethan to be her dad when jack baker already loved her is interesting to me because it's like. she's desperate for mia's affection because mia promised to love her and she lied, for her own survival tbf, i think prior to eveline killing everyone on the ship mia mostly saw her as a job

eveline's hunger for love can't be satiated because she wants love and the only way she knows how to get it is by infecting people and making them obsessive and crazy.

and in that state they can't actually... love her in the way that she wants them to.
