You can't just be skilled in horse training. You also need to do alchemy, gathering, other life skills

And even with mats. You only have a 3% chance to succeed

But I need 1000s of it so I've been dragging my feet hard. Alchemy is so expensive and I'm not a level you can sneeze at. It's still painful

it's exhausting, i've been trying to work on mine but where it isn't expensive it's exhausting, just running around to gather the mats if i can't or won't pay for them is such a pain in the butt

alchemy makes some useful stuff in FFXIV but that doesn't make it any less annoying

Alchemy is always a loss of money, but what you create you need to use wisely.

So like. You make an elixir. You've lost 500k from just crafting it. The elixir lasts 8 min.

If you can find a grind spot where you can make more than 500k in those 8 min the elixir is active, then the alchemy is valuable

If you can't make 500k in 8 min then you've now wasted those ingredients, time and money

But some grind spots, especially for parties, no one will let you join unless you have a good elixir line up.

Alchemy is considered the end game life skill

1 elixir batch can take 6 months to prepare because the materials are so rare. You can't gather them yourself easily without overkill effort. You have to sit and wait for them to come in through afk means + worker/node systems

So I do alchemy once every 3 months lmao
