I’m not 100% sure if i will formally vote, given my hiatus, but Finn is on autopilot, so he’s AROUND and it would make sense to participate in the vote, so i might (but only if i feel confidently caught up and informed on the going ons)

But i did want to think through some thoughts about it to help me solidify a direction and make sure i know where Finn will be at with all this, post mission!

Beck’s extremely valid point (i know others have also had this thought too, this was just where I was reading it) about how characters not directly involved in the healing/curing probably shouldn’t be voting to volunteer their teammates for something is REALLY INTERESTING

I think Finn would be, in a vacuum, pretty quick to want to stay and help, so without IC discussion, he might not immediately come to the realization of above (although i imagine it is something that’s getting discussed here and there, in the same way that the use of powered characters was getting discussed a bit on cirawei)

A FUN CANON ELEMENT is that Finn’s biological mother was a doctor during a pandemic that had a 60% general fatality rate (and near 100% fatality rate for doctors/nurses/caretakers involved in response), and before she succumbed to the virus herself, uploaded her consciousness into an AI designed to take care of the human population

I don’t know that Finn would be cognizant of this at this moment, but it’s definitely not NOT something he thinks about, especially since he’s been spending a lot more time in Ximilia around people’s who are doctors or healers of one kind or another

YEAH! I want to play more with this stuff too, if not this mission, later ones. I think like, if nothing else, Finn is doing a lot of observing and internalizing how really, really complicated these situations are

Like Finn is of course, 100% needs to help, will throw himself into danger in a heartbeat to save someone, but it becomes a LOT more sticky when it’s not his own life he’s making decisions about, but a whole crew full of people with various skills and opinions and willingness to stay or go
