hi I exist but at what cost
I haven't plurkded much because I keep going "nobody wants to hear whining" and yet
I always want to hear from you regardless
I'm having tons of health problems and the master naturalist training isn't as cool as I thought it'd be, so. sucks, y'all
very little work right now, also sucks
in less meh news, there is a catbird hanging around our yard. he is cute and sings nicely
awwww man well at least there's the catbird
what's the deal with the master naturalist training?
eh, there's a large chunk of it that is slated for "nature interpretation" which apparently means writing haiku about the prairie
wait do you get to say you're a master naturalist tho? cuz that's awesome
I did not sign up and pay hundreds of dollars to write haiku badly
oh, yeah okay that's ... yeah
I do but if I want to do anything wtih it I need continuing education and volunteeer hours, which I guess includes submitting eBird reports? not hard
lmao yeah if ebird counts... nice
right? like...on day 1 I saw orioles and a rose-breasted grosbeak, which I haven't seen in the city in years so that was nice
nice!! man, rose-breasted grosbeak is a bucket list bird for sure, I need to get out east more
come visit and we will see them all
indigo buntings are mine and i was this close to seeing one last week
oooh they're definitely one to learn the song of, I hear far more of them than I ever see when I'm out in their range
but the instructor only saw them while the rest of us were eating lunch
but they sing loudly and are easy to find once you hear them since they sit on the top of something obvious, usually
oh man I wonder if that was the one I heard singing while I was doing my stupid haiku shit. he was over the crest of the hill and I couldn't identify it
do you have merlin? the song ID feature is really good
I don't have a phone to use it XD
anyway I'm still waiting for inspiration to strike while feeling every day like my body is falling apart so being able to DO anything is getting harder. whee. don't get old, it sucks.
stay young forever Lauren
at least I survived 3 weeks in Japan with zero digestive issues and my knee never really giving out on me, but now that I'm back that's all I have. bad gut and bad knee, all day erryday
can't exercise because of the knee
aw man, well I'm glad it wasn't a problem in Japan! that's actually something I hear about frequently - a lot of people's digestive problems in particular seem to vanish when on vacation in other countries for various reasons
some of it's placebo/just having too much fun but probably there are other reasons too
right? lmao no the amount of deep-fried katsu was not...well, healthier.
my guess is you're too overstimulated to notice. and then come home and WHAM all the sick catches up
maybe, but I'm also working to identify what sets it off. it might be raw tomato.
I have enoyed pico de gallo too much to suddenly be intolerant of tomato.
I also always want to hear from you even if your plurks are full of /raspberries
I am glad yall support my /raspberries
gut issues are fucking abysmal in particular and you deserve to complain
at least it's not cheese. I'd die before I gave up cheese

]sipstea\
same. cheese is one of my only safe foods and if that ever changes I will fund the entire lactase capsule industry myself
