The first week was a wild ride. Trying to better understand what he understood and remembered and what was lost. And it is lost.

This isn't "He'll get it back with time" it's just gone

But he's been a good sport and even though I stepped on a landmine by reaching out to him far too soon after he re-appeared, I think we figured out how to provide enough info without it becoming overwhelming

I did have to give the whole guild a weird post of like "He forgot you, that's okay" at his request. They've been really good about it

No one is questioning, no one has confronted him, when he's in voice chat and is like "What's this (mechanic that's been in the game for 2 years already)" people are pretty good at helping him figure that out rather than mock or question further

Thank goodness the monkeys are good people.

Overall, he's doing very well. It sounds like his eye was um. Injured? With the surgery. He mentioned OFF HAND that he only has one eye now and that threw people off

We were joking about my lack of depth perception and then he chided that I have 2 eyes and he is partially blind and can do better

Ah, yes. He's still a bit of an asshole. But that's why we love him. lmao

He's still doing chemo, already trying to go back to work while doing some other rehabilitation stuff. But besides the memory gaps and forgetting WHOLE people at large and other things, his mind seems very sharp

I think that's the best we could hope for. Anyway, a small update because I realized the last time I mentioned military guildie it sounded a bit ominous
