A few things worked in our favor. Ru was sleeping on my hand over my laptop (wasd is rough with a cat head over your hand but we made it work) He was pretty groggy

But he was fairly alert when my dad came by and either Ru was like surprised by it that he froze or was genuinely like Fine. Be that way. IDK.
