i went back and forth on how much higurashi and umineko are games tbh

the only reason i didn't include fallout and baldur's gate was because i already had an isometric rpg on the list and i was trying not to have too many playstyle repeats.

tbh i'm not entirely satisfied with this list because it feels like there's still many games that i really love that are missing from it, and some that i'm not sure really count.

Platinum: very understandale, i think my problem with attempting that kind of approach would be that i have a pretty substantial bias towards certain types of games. i've played hundreds of video games but the ones that stick to me tend to be either narrative heavy indie games or RPGs. isometric CRPGs are also a niche that i really love

They're a good niche that I'd like to see return

baldurs gate 1 or fallout 1 could also easily go on this list but i wanted to limit the amount of entries that share the same series, to somewhat mixed results.

there's been some entries. i haven't played a lot of the more modern takes on the genre like wasteland or the shadowrun game but they're out there.

The Shadowrun Returns trilogy are good ones.

But if you get into them, I'd strongly suggest going in release order. Each later game adds quality of life improvements that're honestly a pain not to have if you go out of order.
