[RL] Planned to go to the Everhart Museum – Natural History, Science & Art yesterday for the community day event but instead we managed to get there today. It's a very cute little museum! If for any reason you're in Scranton PA, I recommend it.
Obligatory taxidermy with derp-face syndrome. (Apparently a lot of it was made by the guy who founded the museum. Who was also a Civil War Doctor for the Union and later a shipping magnate.)
There was good taxidermy too, a lot of bird species you don't usually see outside of bigger museums. Like birds of paradise and three of the extinct locals. Passenger Pigeon, Ivory Billed Woodpecker and Carolina Parakeet.
And if dead things aren't your jam... they have way more art. Lots by local artists as well as some tribal art, Americana and glassware from a local historical glassmaker.
