Something happened with a guild member

But I don't know what and this feels like a "you should know why" kinda thing

This member has been in our guild for nearly 2 years

She's a Jamaican living in Japan with a few years on me, even. We reminisce from time to time about life abroad and things like being away from home for years and just culture shock, things like that

I know her pretty well or so I thought....

Suddenly yesterday she left the discord server

We don't get concerned when most leave. But when a member that's been around over a year? In MMO time that's like ....... forever

MMO time =/= RL time. It moves much faster imo.

So she left discord.... but not the guild

So I try messaging her on discord

I'm blocked

In-game? Blocked

FFS what happened???

The social butterfly officer also finds himself blocked

We're chatting with each other in such a fuss and trying to run over anything that we did that might have caused this, or if someone else did something

And then military guy tries to message. Lol he's not blocked. Maybe she didn't realize we'd all be trying to contact her

She just tells him "I'm on a break" he says okay. They both say bye

Why didn't she just say that

I'm exhausted

I don't even care anymore I was worried for two days we did something and we hit the point of

Whatever

Which is dangerous because I don't come back from "whatever"

It's one of those, and I was talking to social butterfly about this, if we care so much and it's not reciprocated that contact can just be sliced or blocked like that

Then we're just not gonna care from now on

I'm upset, not because she wants a break! That's VALID but because she went through the effort to leave, block and ignore friends when they just wanted to make sure she was okay

You're right to be upset, I don't block people unless I never want to see them again

Especially a friend who I talk casually with out of game!

I have never heard of someone blocking everyone just so they can take a break that is quite frankly kind of insane

What if you have misunderstood and decided to remove her from the guild?

Communication is important! Just say 'hey I need a hiatus I am going to block everyone for my own mental health' or something

She was literally at a guild event the day before, which just made us more confused

Yeah, that would have been 100% OKAY but instead we get the bot notif she left the server and over 24 hours we discover she blocked most of the officers

Like. I know there is a valid reason somewhere in there

But not knowing means I can't help and I am unable to understand why

She left the guild briefly super early on when she first joined because she wasn't moving at the speed everyone else was and thought she was being a burden

But I talked to her, she rejoined

It was mostly just reassuring her to just play because it's a game and finding a considerate community in a game like BDO where everyone backstabs is difficult to say the least

But without having that chat, I wouldn't have been able to even have that chat to figure things out

Lol also this was me and social butterfly grumbling between each other about feeling betrayed and OVERANALYZING the entire ordeal

We're both just horribly gaslight and feeding off each other so we agreed not to discuss it anymore lol
