saw one editorial like "the democrats missed their chance to get someone ameniable like Tom Emmer because they didn't back down from their own position" and it's like....there wasn't even time
Some rumors say the reason why Emmer and Scalise never got to the floor was a fear that some Dems might find them okay and give them votes (or just vote present) which would make them seem buddy buddy with the Dems, lowering theirh chances of reelection.
