i think some of it might be image quality as well. It can be really hard to get a good photo or scan of traditional art, even if it looks fantastic in real life, whereas digital art and photos are made for a screen so they tend to look more polished.
honestly one of the reasons i quit trying to do art is because digital doesn't click with me and there was, at one time, so much discussion about how crappy traditional art is in comparison that i just let it all go
coopyey: whoever said traditional art is crappy needs a damn reality check. Traditional is part of crafts and artisany, and its point is not looking freaking immaculate like a line made with digital art. Beyond other things. I hate it.
