like, you KIND OF can emulate it, but apparently in the last nearly 20 years nobody's figured out the frame rate issues, for example
this is kind of one of the only reasons i still own an n64, but i'm not even sure i can connect it to the tv i have (the console's currently buried under some stuff on the shelf and the wiring situation is an acrobatic challenge)
ough I have an N64 and the game and compatible (if tiny) tv, if I could I'd invite you over to play it
why is it always the weird gems that have funky issues with emulation I swear
it's because it did so much weird stuff with the n64's pseudo-3d, i think
the people making Shake Shake are doing god's work because my life has a "shake and throw" shaped hole in it. i've gotten better at ignoring it over the years but it's still there. THAT BEING SAID...
i seem to remember the other game Marina shows up in, Rakugaki Showtime, emulating just fine, if you can find it.
it's like a smash bros style dodgeball game that has both Marina and Cloud from FF7 in it
I've def seen discussions on emulating Rakugaki before, so yeah! God I want to play that game so bad
it looks like so much stupid fun and the op is amazing
it was a PS1 game, and i might still have it, actually
ohhhh nice! I've never so much as seen a copy

well, i mean, i have a copy, after a fashion, sort of. That is to say, since it's a japanese-only game, there was kind of only one way to get it at the time when i did, so
not that i'm going to confess to anything in a public forum or anything but
LMAO hey no worries I feel that
god, the whole Saturn-PS1-N64 generation just seems to actively fight emulation at every turn
that early pioneering 3D where it's suddenly more complex than 2D graphics, but it hasn't developed any sort of universal standard yet
(which is why I want Mischief Makers to get the full rerelease treatment goddammit

)
as i was lead to understand it, there's some kind of legal murk involved
like, as in i think nobody's sure who actually owns it now
i could be wrong though, i guess treasure isn't as dead as I used to think?
they're still releasing stuff from their back catalog digitally, yeah
I think they still own most of their IP too, though who knows what publishing deals they had in place that might still be complicating issues
