BDO has very strict rules about silver transfer
There's no player-to-player trading allowed
You can only "trade" hp and mp pots, nothing else at all
The market is RNG and anonymous
But of course if you put 1 thing up for sale and no one else is selling then you know what one sale is yours
One of our members, through 6 different accounts over 3 years has been transferring silver and items across his accounts
Mostly just taking good login and freebies to use as extra weapon upgrades, general income, etc.
He's done this by putting up singular sales on odd items that most people ignore on the market
So the way they punish this is a 30 day ban (or perma if multiple violations) and they make you pay back the silver earned by causing the market saved silver go into the negative
Until you pay back that market silver, you can't buy from the market, only sell
They managed to ban 5 of the 6 accounts and I'm guessing didn't look far enough back to realize how deep it goes (years!!!)
And the player is now 1 TRILLION in debt
For reference the best weapon in game sells for 150bil
1 TRILLION on One account
That's not even all of them
So the idiot of a player, PROUDLY announces all of this on our discord lol
I mean. There's also a post on the website when accounts get banned
So 5 of those are his, and I guess some other people are dumb too
I've kicked people for breaking ToS and bragging about it
I'm not sure what to do about this guy
We know he's a sweaty no lifer
And he's usually a pretty nice guy
Guilds aren't punished by affiliation for people getting banned. But it does stain your rep potentially
Especially when they brag like this
Anyway, so Idk if I should tattle and give PA a tip that he's been doing it 3 years and they missed an account
Or just ignore the situation
Right now, I'm ignoring it because I feel like 1 tril debt is a justified slap on the wrist
For reference, 1 hour grind is 1bil if you are very lucky with drops
You can make about 500mil as side income a day
So he's looking at 1,000 hours of lucky af grinding to break even, give or take, with just the one account. the others are kinda useless atm I guess
So maybe I shouldn't say anything?
i mean i can't even start to give advice on this, but damn what a crazy thing to do
LOL 3 YEARS they got away with it
They were more like "oh wow, took them long enough" they're not even gonna appeal
I think they are just glad it isn't perma
He was so chill about it too like. lmao lemme grab the convo where he told us what happened
SO HE'S KINDA LIKE Look at my 200iq (lol he actually said that later) and also like Ah shit, the jig is up
SO AGAIN. I think I can just ignore the issue and let the game admin handle any rules broken since it won't affect the guild as a whole
yeah, it seems like it's already been handled? but oof.
(Also the "they didn't catch me for 3 years!" ... but they did catch you...)
I'm guessing the system to track these things got a recent upgrade. They tend to ban specific things in waves
i think losing 5 accounts and getting a huge debt is enough for now - but I'd pull him aside privately and let him know if this has negative repercussions on the guild, he needs to make a decision about his future in it.
