It's still not completely settled, but apparently they got into a spot dispute and this monke is like new to the game, but probably a purchased account

I don't know if he's new, he asks questions that make me assume he's new, but his account doesn't look new. Which makes me think it's purchased

So this kiddo has all the gear of a vet, and none of the knowledge and etiquette know-how

Which is just a bad combo

They can gear check people but have no skill to back it up

So they flag up for this spot dispute

Get their butt whooped, ask for back up

This is a common song and dance

NO ONE backs them up because lol I trained my kids well to avoid big brawls .-.

Basically our rule is, if it's 1v1 it stays 1v1

You don't add 5v1 because then you have a guild war

This is when I get pinged into waking up (this was like 2 hours ago and it STILL isn't fully resolved)

Sheesh, you know your officers are amazing when they can babysit so efficiently in your absence. I have such a good team, you guys

So I get a rundown from an officer, I'm getting yelled at by this monke in guild chat to back them up or dec

So I ask, How many are there? 1? We aren't sending the guild after 1. Either find a new spot and accept defeat or keep practicing

If they send 2+, then I will consider a dec. But I'm not wasting 90+ people's time and energy over 1 player

So they start getting angy and start trash talking IN GUILD CHAT

I warned them once

It continued

So. Kick.

I eventually got the name of the player they were more or less harassing and apologized for the now ex-member and that we had "part ways" lol

They were OKAY tbh. They were like "fair game to hunt?"

KNOCK YOURSELF OUT they are not my problem anymore

I never kick people and it really sucks when you have to

I THINK THERE IS A COMMON MINDSET that like. "Oh, but the guild leader will back me up"

Or my favorite "they'll fix my mistake"

I doubt anyone, in the moment thinks "I made a mistake" although I have had really good members with tempers that monke then take a step back to go "ah shit oops"

One in particular got into a fight once that cause a guild dec and when I started asking what happened he was like "... I'll go apologize, sorry for the trouble"

SO LIKE we do have those monkes but they are ones we keep because there is a level of self reflection and at least maturity to, sure get angy and smash but at least go Oops afterward and try to help me patch things up lol
