I put a lot of dead leaves in an old rice sack with holes and kept them moist. I kept them there for ~45 days before adding them to the compost pile. There leaves had a bunch of mycelia and some have sprouted white mushrooms.
I wonder how the earthworms react to the mycelia. I asked Bing AI and the answer was inconclusive. Sometimes they get along well, sometimes not. Too many variables. I guess we'll see.
