fuck this month's worth of torture
fuck this "medical binder" that is worse than any actual underworks binder I've ever worn
I am itchy, sweaty, gross, and I don't think the "skin grafts" are going to stay on my body
why do I need to wear an elastic strap for a month that is PRESSING ON MY DIAPHRAGM I can't breathe
until I figured out which layer I could fold back, I also had nausea for a week bc this damn thing was pressing my stomach
I can't do anything, I can't even fucking sweep or vaccum for........ reasons??
I thought the worst was the drains and...actually yeah those were worst but at least I got those out after a week
2+ weeks afterward of being so compressed I can't breathe or eat a full meal? Also bullshit.
I want to know if other top surgery folks have dealt with this and how but I have no idea how or where to even search that
just gonna be mad until a doctor says I can take this shit off and resume normal person life
being able to sit in a car for more than 15 minutes before I start hyperventilating bc I can't fucking breathe with elastic bands pressing on my diaphragm
sleeping on my side instead of propped up like George Washington in the 1700s when they thought laying on your back was satanic or whatever
this is my month of pure torment as punishment/reward for getting my free top surgery I guess
side note I am also BORED AS FUCK because I can't work, can't do any chores besides cleaning dishes, and am out of video games to play
oh damn man that sounds so painful, I'm so sorry
I hope someone can come help with some advice because yeah weeks of that ughhhh
p sure I'm doing lasting muscle damage to my back bc of how this binder sits
I want to go to the surgeons and tell them to wear this binder for 1 week, and see if they prescribe it to anyone after they've experienced what it's actually like
honestly sounds like they should, I mean, from what admittedly little I know about binders, there's a whole community outreach thing dedicated to making sure people get the right kind and wear them properly and uh
none of what you're going through sounds ok
for day-wear, yeah, but idk about post-surgery whatever this is
idk what it's supposed to be doing to my chest
I have a bruise about an inch below my sternum and I have no idea what it has to do with my surgery
have you called and asked? maybe their office has suggestions or knows it should/shouldn't feel so intensely horrible
I have an appointment for Friday, I'm just hoping to make it that far without wanting to punch someone
Monday is whining day, let's hope that's as bad as it gets
ahh friday feels so far but at least there's that
you have my permission to punch someone before then if you need to
I bet the cops will understand
I'll punch an F-35 doing nighttime flights
that's extremely impressive
someday I will be so badass
(the F-35 stationed at our nearby airport are doing night flights this week and fuck them in entirety, top to bottom left to right fuck the military and fuck these fucking noisy ass planes)
instead of November SAD I get December fuck the military I guess
I wish I had the power to fistfight the military and win
no amount of voting No to F-35s helped, they still came and holy jesus fuck they are LOUD
just before surgery I was out taking a walk at idk 2 in the afternoon or so. they passed overhead. I had to put my hands over my ears to prevent hearing damage
and I live/walk more than 4 miles from the airport. I'm on the fringe of the accepted area of noise
I will never not be angry that the government blocked our mayor and state sentators from touring a base with F-35s because they KNEW the takeaway would be "this is too loud for a residential city"
ugh yeah that's such a bullshit but typical trick
Sympathies. Compression can help prevent bad clotting, I think.
oh yeah I'm sure that's part of it, I had this list of suggestions to prevent clots, but most of those tips were only for the first 1-2 weeks or while I had the drains
I'm def asking the surgeon on Friday if there's any reason to still be in it if it's restricting breathing
