so the gauntlet of all the fears will be a major red flag to her and given the fact that ONE person marked by all the fears destroyed the world, the idea of a whole collection of people who have all flirted with being avatars or are avatars being part of a similar ritual seems like the worst case scenario.

but! aelwyn had a conversation with jon ages ago about whether or not it's possible for an avatar to resist the siren call of a ritual, and she said "yeah it should be" because she's a hubristic little demon.

rip to all those motherfuckers but she's different.

except she actually won't be able to in this case. it's different, it's not what she wants for the world at all, but there'll be a kind of madness that will grip her as she goes further into the gauntlet, this single minded determination to hijack the ritual somehow.
