I've noticed that it's often used by perhaps-less-educated folks when appearing on tv

It's a bit of beating around the bush indirect way for saying ME or MY or I

I, myself, hardly ever use it...oop

unless I'm talking about myself I suppose.

unless of course you are going out with someone whose name is myself..in which case things could get confusing...

I have never even met someone by the name of myself

example "were you talking about me? No. I was talking about Myself."

but yes, i can see the confusion possibilities - "I was up all night shagging Myself"

"but *I'm* Myself!!"

I kinda like, myself, sticking to the direct not indirect roundabout way of referring to myself personally myself

i try to keep myself out of conversations so that i won't have to defend myself at the end for all the things that I, myself, would propose,

think, say, feel

i remain myself and, therefore, unrestrained

you think therefore you are...myself..
