A lot of people I know dont end up doing what they went to school for. By a lot, I mean everyone I know.

Its discouraging if you think about it.

I'm not doing what I wantED to do. I'm doing what I want to do I got a degree in English with the intent of becoming an English teacher

But I actually figured out that my passion was in the arts, visual arts and design, so I decided to just work my career toward that

instead. But, on the flipside, almost everyone I know is doing what they intended to do ... those with bio degrees went on to med/pharm

schools; those with social sci/english degrees did law, those who were CS/Engineers became programmers/engs

I almost feel like a minority, but I also don't give a damn what people think

And, like everyone else had said--no schooling is a waste of time. It builds different kinds of skills. Mostly, college = test of endurance

i was Computer Science and there is no way in hell i will be doing programming for living. i would srsly die young... but that's just me

see this is the thing. i feel college degrees are only for those know who what they want.

lawyers, doctors, engineers, etc...

but a business degree is bull if you ask me.

you cant really get anywhere unless you get your masters now

and frankly its sad because ALOT of people i know are struggling to find business jobs

and they make little to no money. i had no degree and i was making over 40000 a year. thats like the starting salary for any business job

well when i had a job.

anyway, my point is...my friends are stuck with their jobs making no money and i feel that going to school is pointless now.

ive always done well for myself. i dont wanna be a doctor or lawyer.i dont have the brains for that

but if i did...id stay in school. business wise? i feel its unnecessary now

i would venture to say that it is unwise to think that a degree is worthless in the long run. Even if you don't do what you "intended" to do

College is just a means, not the end. This article sums it up quite well

yup. a degree is still important regardless of what you do after you get it. there are def several occasions where i benefit just from

saying I have a bachelor's degree.
