I used to do that until I fell in with OnRez. Now, it don't seem like I have much of a chance, eh? eh?
Some folks do it, some folks don't. I'd say mention that it's a bit cheaper in-world due to Xstreet's levy, and definitely include a slurl
to your store. Those who really want your product 'right here right now' will buy it anyway... and realistically the fee is negligible for
someone who wants something instantly. i think most people will be understanding of that.
Your goods are at a fair price already-I wouldn't mind a small extra fee at all.
doesn't. Reasoning: The price I charge is not what it cost me (duplication costs nothing) - it's what I can get away with charging.
And that does not change depending on where I sell it.
Rika: I don't either, but I can understand the justification behind charging a little extra. The convenience of SLX is largely for the
customer, not the content creator. Given a choice, i'd personally prefer to make a sale in-world. Being dinged for selling something on SLX
can hurt depending on how much you make on a regular basis.
It is not so much about the money, but I am annoyed at this relentlessly-promoted, GOM-ed, anti-competitive service which takes a cut.
LL are encouraging people to buy in Xstreet and that takes from inworld sales.
Perhaps I am just bitter.
not me. Kinda thought of it, since that is where most of my sales are.
The fees I pay are on a per sale basis, which to me is a lot more reasonable than renting space for a satellite location. And that,
effectively, is what my XStreet store is - a satellite location. I wouldn't expect space for such a place free of rent - why should XStreet
if a sort of warehousing service could be set up with sufficient security that could compete again.
I don't mind the small cut given the wider exposure. I see it more as an advertising expense or branch store rental, per Aki.
I don't charge a premium.
no i don't; i consider it "rent" on xstreet
Ordy, you can be correct AND bitter. Look at Prokofy - she manages it half the time.
even a broken clock is correct twice a day
Unless it's missing one hand, then it's correct at least 120 times a day. xD
