Sweet! My firewall is back online. I'm currently running IPCop version 1.4.21.
My IPCop firewall is going down in 5..4..3..2..
Wow! The dd process is complete. Time to backup the firewall that's in production. I'll plaster those settings on the new IPCop install.
Wow! my dd process is still going. sudo dd if=1gbflash.img of=/dev/sdb
Looks like I left a case of tools on site. I'll call the last place I was working and see if they have them. I hope they have them.
I'm using dd to plaster the IPCop image onto compact flash. sudo dd if=1gbflash.img of=/dev/sdb
My IPCop compact flash image is being created. I'll take the compact flash from my old, old firewall and use it for the new IPCop image.
My head is spinning. Looks like I need to create or use the tun network device. Fun times are ahead.
It's time for me to install IPCop on VirtualBox. I hope it works.
I booted the Knoppix 5.3.1 DVD on my ThinkPad T42 and guess what I found out? Compis works! I'm surprised because it doesn't work on Ubuntu.
