Finally saw Dune part 2. It was okay. They introduced some 2024 elements in it (northerners were more sophisticated Enlightenment types, southerners were "fundamentalists", ie, backward, to be scoffed at), and it compressed the timeline of the book such that Paul is still a kid.

I've never read the book or saw the original series, but this new Shogun is fantastic!

Meanwhile, I learned Godzilla Minus One won an Oscar for visual effects. The movie cost USD15 million to make. Goes to show hope bloated Hollywood special effects budgets are.

It just suddenly occurred to me that the last time I saw a house shrew was about 20 years ago. Someone was on his way to work in office attire and tried to kill it with a rock, apparently thinking it's a rat. I think they might be extinct here because of clueless people and stray cats. They move slower than rats. Wala lang.
