I want to learn how to listen intently to what they say and not think about what I have to say about it.

Self-pity won't change your situation. If you don't like where you're at, then get out of there. Don't blame the people around you for falling into that hole.

Prideful people only think about themselves. They think they are the victims. They think that the world revolves to them.
