I reverted back to old firestorm for now but I know I'll have to use a pbr viewer soon enough and I need good every day lighting!

These settings are by far the best I've come across to mimic my normal settings, and they're just L$1

i hope people will come up with more presets. I hate messing with my weather settings. I just want to buy 'packs' where it's premade.

these are the included settings: i'm so glad someone released a set like that, making the transition easier for us

I've been using a slightly tweaked WL/EEP similar to CalWL since I joined SL 15 years ago. To me it's perfect, because my SL looks the same as my items in Photoshop, which I prefer for creating and testing, to get the colors match the skintones etc...

I’m starting to realise that my instant love for PBR might be related to my years-old aversion to the windlights cited above 😅

haha, i'm sure many builders love PBR, at least the ones who have no performance issues. my focus is just a different one. as cosmetics creator i prefer an EEP that is optimized for skins, so i can see everything in accurate colors and all the details without distracting shadows or lights. the worst EEP for me personally is midday but

it feels like half SL is using it

IzzieButton half SL IS using it lol. I test/take pictures of all my jewelry in calwl, but I also test it in midday, to see if it looks half decent there too.

although I will say that my gold earrings look pretty good in the new viewer set to legacy midday:

oh yes, they look great! midday legacy in PBR is actually quite good in compare to midday in a non-PBR viewer. PBR midday legacy: non-PBR midday:

the other midday in PBR is quite harsh

you have no idea how many people ask me to remove their under eye highlights, and then turns out they are using midday setting LOL

Tbh, since a lot of SL users had their lighting settings set up to ensure that their avatar always looked like they were lit by a ring light, I think an easier way for people to get desired results would be to choose Midday and then wear a face light (albeit a projector one targeted only on the face)

New midday in pbr is drab, like the sky and water is all gray but you like it because pbr lighting actually lightens as you zoom closer to your avatar, so it’s impossible to take a bad portrait

gogolita: for me it’s blue, although I will admit it looks a lot saturated than the legacy midday

Midday is the lazy man's windlight. It's normal and well, gets the job done. I use it if I am not taking photos.
