<rant>
S/N/A/P goes on a card.
You can only buy certain goods with it.
they cannot be hot food. (In fact, if the store only has, say, a hot chicken? They must let it cool before you can buy it as "cold").
If someone is
<01/11>
"selling" it, then someone is getting FOOD with it no matter what. Someone who likely needs it, but makes just a little too much to get benefits OR isn't getting enough. Remember, some people may only get $35 per person for an entire month.
What they
<02/11>
require is such a TIGHT SMALL THING and T/r/u/m/p is trying to make it worse (such as if a guardian has a 14-18 y/o? That teen, that child, needs to work 20 hrs to "count". )
However, keep in mind, that if you get, say, $35 a month. And you
<03/11>
can only have $1,000 in earnings. And you suddenly go $1,001? You won't just lose $1. You could go down to $30? $20? $10? Or nothing at all. You don't know. They keep you to either you make below what they allow and live week to week (or less), or
<04/11>
you have to make 3x as much for what AID you'll no longer get. They don't tell you how much it'll drop. They don't tell you anything except "if you make more than XXXX". They also don't count internet - which is a current
<05/11>
necessity -- and no, libraries and the like are NOT accessible to everyone.
There are some state variations of some things, and case by case where you have to fill out forms that are LEGALLY REQUIRED, but yeah.
No matter where it goes: It's going to feed someone.
<06/11>
Ppl also forget that ppl who need it: don't always have storage, don't always have ovens (or not big enough ones for big prepped meals), etc.
(I also find it interesting the amount of ppl who're like
<07/11>
"As a child my parents had to cheat so we could have food on the table" which has a MULTIPLE LAYER thing - and not from "bad parents", not that it matters when innocent children are involved but then those people turn around to be part
<08/11>
of the crowd that exaggerates and doesn't want others to eat =| YEAH.)
But, alas. Your $35-$300 a year you spend to help feed people where less than 2% of the Fed Budget goes towards... the few that might NEED to push that system b/c
<09/11>
they are ONLY getting enough to feed one person instead of two, or are disabled but being ignored? yeah, that's an even SMALLER percentage.
Because you can't say "never" - that someone doesn't have connections or something is slipped.
But the
<10/11>
exaggerated amount that morons are using just continue to set me off.
Nvm other things.
My head is throbbing, but I had to rant. Again. Repeat, I don't care. I just. It sets me off.
<11/11>
I don't get the 14-18yr old expectations, at all. They know, legally, 14-15yr olds can't actually work unless it's like...babysitting and yard work someone pays them to do, not through a company, that sort of thing. And before 18, those children still need to go to school, on top of that. this is bullshit. Instead of just admitting that people in this
country need massive help because he fucked the country, meanwhile he's spending millions upon millions to upgrade the whitehouse - which no one, not we the people, ask for - it's disgusting. Every time I see that crap my stomach twists because all I can think is, "How many people could that have fed?"
